zen-ish

Yesterday was some crazy biblical weather around here. There wasn't any hail, but enough rain to drown a turkey. I think the idea behind this meandering stone path is that it elegantly diverts rain water run-off to the street- and I would have liked to see it in action yesterday because I'm sure it was one of the first residential white water rapids around.

holy crap, its warm out!

Its crazy amounts of warm out right now, and I really wasn't expecting to be hit with such tropical breezes when I left my house this morning! Spring has to be on the way, so here's a spring green house to help greet the season. Unless this family has a 3 year old decorator, there is no excuse for the offensive use of primary colors here.

climate: sunny, high 50's

anywhere but here

This is actually a picture I took yesterday of a nice looking coffee shop I always pass on my way to work. Its only recently the coffee shop, it used to be an Italian take out diner. Someday I will have the motivation (or insomnia) to get up early enough to stop in for a relaxing cup of coffee before work. Today is not that day. Instead today it is super crappy out: slushy, rainy, misty, and grey. And I got splashed by a car going too fast on a residential street, so now my pants are wet and I'm in a crappy mood. But it is warmer!

climate: see above, low 40's
shoes: black stack heels (height to keep me dry again)
ipod: badly drawn boy

is that nessesary?

Its raining and totally crappy out but I still walk to work becuase its quicker then waiting for the bus. Its also garbage day. This pedestrian hating homeowner has decided the best way to get revenge on the already miserable walkers is to block the ENTIRE FREAKING SIDEWALK with their soaking wet garbage. The sign post- garbage- parked car trifecta forced me to decide: leap the garbage pile in a single bound or backtrack into the street through a huge puddle and around the car. I leapt. Not the smartest thing I've ever done, really.

climate: low 40's, raining
shoes: black square toe stacked heels (rain boots sprung a leak, so I opted for the height to keep my feet dry.
ipod: none, I can't handle an ipod and an umbrella at the same time. too complicated

baby, its cold outside

I spent the past 4 days in lovely and warm Florida. On my walk to work I reflected on the weather and I realized- it is possible to live a life without winter coats! I know its an obvious statement, but the reality of it didn't really kick in until I exchanged my 30 degree morning walk for 75 degrees for 4 February days. If I were to move to Florida, however, it seems I'd also have to exchange my ankle length down coat for a matching turquoise track suit with sequins and embroidered flamingos. Now that is something to think about.
